About Soma Sanctuary
Hi, I’m Tanis, the owner and founder of Soma Sanctuary
For much of my life, I lived disconnected from my body. Like many people, I learned how to survive by staying in my head — pushing through, performing, caring for everyone else, while quietly losing connection with myself along the way. What I came to realize is that the more disconnected we become from our bodies, the more disconnected we can feel from our intuition, our purpose, our joy, and our sense of safety within ourselves.
Our bodies hold so much. Stress. Grief. Trauma. Exhaustion. Stories we were never given space to process. And so often, what we are truly longing for is not to be “fixed,” but to feel safe enough to soften. Safe enough to rest. Safe enough to come home to ourselves again.
That is the heart behind Soma Sanctuary. To offer a space where people feel safe, held, and deeply cared for. A space where the nervous system can soften, the body can exhale, and healing can unfold gently.
I believe in the power of touch — not only as a physical experience, but as a language. Safe, intentional touch has the ability to reconnect us to ourselves and remind us that we are worthy of care, worthy of rest, and worthy of inhabiting our bodies fully.
Soma Sanctuary was born from my own journey back to myself, and it is an honour to walk alongside others as they reconnect to theirs.
